On the bright orange egg yolk, wanted to offer this tidbit of information: some of our friends educated us that the color is in direct porportion to the seed the chicken eats, and that marigold seeds, occurring naturally from blown in fields, or added to caged fowl, is what gives the bright color! We learned this because his father had a marigold farm in Mexico that sold to the US poultry industry once that fact had been realized, because yolks in “farm raised” chickens had gotten so pale and anemic looking.
